Information for Parents - School Mission Statement

To continue to develop Bishop Wilton CP School as a happy and effective environment in which every child is encouraged to enjoy learning and reach his or her highest possible level of achievement.

Within the framework of the national curriculum we will provide an interesting and stimulating curriculum suited to each child’s individual abilities and offering opportunities to learn in a variety of different ways.

We will maintain the special, supportive, family atmosphere so that the school continues to be a happy place where acceptance and appreciation of the individual exists.

Aims

Achievement

  • To offer a broad and balanced curriculum, promoting the enjoyment of learning and maximizing individual achievement.
  • To continually seek ways to improve the school’s educational provision, involving all members of the school in this process.
  • To continually apply our extensive expertise and genuine enthusiasm to all subjects, encouraging adventurous work.

Participation

  • To foster the partnership between home, school and village so that the children reach their full potential within their own community and in the world in which they live.
  • to provide a wealth of opportunities for pupils to investigate for themselves and to express their own ideas
  • To facilitate the children’s participation in the learning process, engendering a desire to do their best, encouraging them to fully participate in school activities and share responsibility for success

Pastoral Care in a Christian Community

  • To  provide a safe, caring environment such that children and their parents have full trust and faith in the school and feel that they belong.
  • In this caring environment, based on mutual respect and the nurturing of positive self image, to develop the children through encouragement and praise whilst providing boundaries for what is, and is not, acceptable behaviour
  • To promote Christian attitudes and behaviour towards one another to help the school to be a happy place.
  • To provide an education based on Christian values
