Project Day
Friday 7th October 2005
The whole school enjoyed a visit from Westmount Rubbings
Westmount Rubbings offered:
- Something different;
- Something exciting and educational for all pupils;
- Something that all pupils could succeed in and enjoy.
The children were taught the various techniques of rubbing
using different waxes to achieve a variety of pleasing results.
They were able to choose their subjects some of which were
Monumental brass facsimiles of knights in armour, their ladies
and children, ecclesiastical figures and heraldic animals. Brass
spanned the Medieval, Tudor and Stuart periods.
Younger children were able to do work on the themes of
nursery rhymes, leaves and flowers and butterflies.
A fun day, greatly enjoyed by all, including the adults!
Lots of quality art work to display too.
