Rocking Horse Shop and Pottery Trip

Rocking Horse Shop and Pottery Trip

On Wednesday l March Mrs Sullivan and Mrs Mackenzie's classes went to Fangfoss to the Rocking Horse shop and Pottery. This was to consolidate class work based around the theme of toys both in relation to Science and the theme of Forces and Materials and the history of toys.

In the morning the children made clay vehicles, which will be fired and glazed. The children then visited St Martin's School for lunch. After lunch they went to the Rocking Horse Shop to learn about how Rocking Horses are made and to learn more about old rocking horses. The children made drawings of some of the horses.

The children really enjoyed the day. Reception pupils wrote about their experiences.
