Children's Pages - Foundation Stage
Unit
Outdoor Activities
We are currently developing the outdoor area to allow the
children the opportunity to explore and enhance their learning
in a safe and imaginative environment. We now have colourful
markings on the ground to encourage the children's number
recognition, counting, knowledge of shapes and sequences.
We hope to build up a variety of learning boxes to help explore
the outdoor world eg:
- Weather boxes
- An investigation box
- A Construction box
- A Gardening box
- A Mark Making box
We have a wooden
- House/station/hospital in which the children can develop
their imagination and social skills in a variety of role
play scenarios
- An outdoor sandpit with low level stepping logs
- A quiet seating area
- A wooden train with engines
These will all help create an outdoor classroom in which the
areas of learning can be developed in tandem with the terms
planning.
Parents are invited to share in the children's experiences and
volunteers to help with outdoor activities are most welcome.
