Children's Pages - Clubs
Art Club
This term Mrs Clark has been
leading after school Art Club every Monday. We have had the
opportunity to paint Ancient Greek creatures and make Grecian
Urns.
We love art and achieve highly in
it at Bishop Wilton! Almost all the class choose to stay for art
club. Some of us have won prizes for our work previously at the
Bishop Wilton Show.
Chess Club
Tuesday lunchtime is chess club!
Any of our pupils can join and play friendly games of chess. The
club is also open to beginners. Alex looks after chess club and
is always ready to help others. It is a fun way to get to know
older and younger children and it is very popular. Mrs Halley
helps out if needed.
Sports Club
After school sports club is great fun. Mr Pennington usually
leads this club. So far we have played football, tag rugby and
cricket (bowling skills). In the coming weeks we will also try,
gymnastics, dance, netball and hockey among lots of other
sports. We enjoy sports club very much and can stay until
4.30pm!
Book Club
Children under 7 can join the book club. This is a lunchtime
club where children can share a story and do book related
activities. It is organised and run by the junior children, who
plan the activities and lead the sessions. Mrs Halley is always
present at the sessions to help out if required, but so far her
help has not been necessary!

French Club
After school French club is organised and run by Emmanuelle
Dowsett. Children who stay to French pay for the sessions.
French club is great fun. Emmanuelle is a native French speaker
and organises games, songs and fun activities to inspire the
children in their conversational skills. All children from
reception class upwards can join if they want to. The session
finishes at 4.30pm.
